If I Watched Television, I'd Never Marry

And this is why. If these are the choices being presented to people as being "real," who would ever want them?

Luckily, nobody I know has a marriage like this. I wouldn't swap places with anybody I know, real or fictional.

That's just scary

You know, I married you because I love you. I married you because together, we are partners in creating the life and home we want. If I wanted someone or something else, I wouldn't have married you.

What were those people thinking?

That article is both funny and depressing.

Had no idea that's what I wanted. Thank you Slate Magazine for informing me of my fantasies and desires... NOT. My fantasy involves a hunky, non-verbal man with whom I can do things that cannot be talked about on a family LiveJournal. I can take care of the practical stuff myself. I do it faster, more efficiently and correct the first time. According to Ms. Lithwick women don't seem to be capable of this, still. Is it me or does this play into the whole helpless woman thing?
