A Desperate Cry for Help

Okay, I'm on the point of needing editing assistance for my second Nanovel. The second one has several advantages over the first - it's shorter (just over 50k words)and it's a screwball comedy. It's Sven the Buddhist Viking's Epic Search for Love.

Anyone interested in giving it a read and giving me some feedback? I absolutely promise that you will do at least one spit take while reading it.

Pretty please? But do me a favor and give me some parameters for what kind of feedback you're looking for. When I edit, I can get a little rambunctious.

Here's what I'm looking for:

The chronology is a little confusing. It's a series of flashbacks, but I need to straighten out the timeline. I will do this before I send it to you, but make sure that it makes sense.

I have a tendency to repeat words. I try to catch this whenever possible and sometimes it's unavoidable, but still.

I also have a partiality to adverbs that should be stomped flat.

I'm concerned about where it falls comedically flat. If the whole thing turns you off, I'd like to know why. If you are howling through most of it but then there are parts where you realize that comedy is happening and it's failing, I'd like to know where that is.

What I am NOT looking for:

Don't tell me my characters aren't believable. This is comedy. It's not supposed to be real.

I'm aware of the stereotypes, the unflattering presentation of certain people, etc. They're there on purpose. Again, this is supposed to be funny, not deep.

The ending is the ending. No, I don't want to change it unless you can tell me why it really doesn't work on a comedic or dramatic level.

Other than that, I have the hide of a rhino. Pick away.

Bring it on!

I would love to help you out! I'm a pretty good continuity editor, great at picking up the little inconsistencies, and it sounds like that's what you're looking for. Besides, I have a thought of someday making a living doing this (or a partial living, anyway), and I could use the practice.

I'll try not to drink anything that stains while reading it!

I'd be interested in this.
If I were to give it a read, by what date (approximately) would you like feedback on it?

I'm hoping for a month or less. It's a short read.
