My New Challenge

Okay, once again, I've made a last-minute substitution for the last chapter of the book. The other four stories were easy - I felt them, they had resonance, they wrote themselves. The last chapter has now changed three times, and each time it was because the story I was contemplating just wasn't something I felt deeply.

Then I had the idea for a final chapter that totally speaks to me, the way that the Orfeo chapter spoke to me. Here's my challenge: I need to write and edit the entirety of it before November, because I've still got my Nano to put down. If I can do that, this novel will be done, and it'll be ready to send off to the agents.

I'm starting that last chapter tonight. We'll see how long it takes.

Writing Update

Okay, I started today, and I've done 2,002 words. I have no idea how long this is going to take, but at this rate, I should be within striking distance by the end of the month.
