Nature is Gross

Yesterday morning as we drove into work, we passed a dead deer, a dead raccoon and a dead squirrel. That was just on our street.

By the time we came home, the dead squirrel and the dead raccoon had been claimed, but the dead deer was not only still there, its body was beginning to bloat. Normally coyotes and vultures make pretty quick work of even the deer on our road, but this one is somehow special. All four legs are sticking straight out of a body that looks as though it could burst at any second, showering unsuspecting passersby with deer innards.

I wonder if it's going to bypass coyotes and vultures and just go straight for bugs and microbes who are efficient at completely stripping the carcass, but slow. Very, very slow.

Feeling a Definite Lack of...Something

I want sex and candy. Yeah.

But there's neither anyone lounging in my chair NOR anyone casting devious stares in my direction, and if there were, well, I'm at work and it would be more a nightmare than a dream. Because it would be someone I work with and that's just. EWWWWWW.

So, um, never mind.
