Getting It In the Neck

I just had a horrible thought. There are a whole bunch of submissions I'd made back in October, each of which contained a self-addressed stamped envelope. Except that the postal rate has changed, which means that all my rejections will now come postage due.

Damn.

I've been reading a couple of agents' LJs, and they are aware of the problem and bought a bunch of two cent stamps to deal with it. At least those two have. Let's hope if an agent/editor took more than ten weeks to read to and reply your submission, they are willing to fork over the extra two cents to get it back to you...esp. since I don't think the postal service had announced the rate change yet in October.

I had one agent take fourteen months to reply to a submission. My outlook is understandably bleak.
