My Life Is One Big Miracle

Quite a few people have asked me what my boss would say/has said about my shaving my head. I was supremely unworried, crediting my boss with the good sense to know that hair is just hair. Except that it went beyond even that.

It turns out, my boss's sister has alopecia and he said that she LOVES having no hair. He thought my lack of hair was great.

And then I told him that I was thinking of putting a tattoo of eyes on the back of my head and he said "I think you should!"

Really, only I have this kind of luck.

You of all people should know this: I make these miracles myself. Jobs appear out of thin air, help comes to me when I am in need, the fabric of the universe stretches and bends just for me because I have faith that it will. My faith is complete and unshakeable, has been vindicated times without number and will see me through any obstacle.

Have faith. Everything is there for you.

I'm learning. That lesson is much harder coming to me than one might think. Certainly I appreciate the object lesson in the truth.

When I was first diagnosed with melanoma (wow, almost 10 years ago!), I swore that if I had chemo and lost my hair, I'd get eyeballs tattooed on the back of my head. I'm glad it never came to that, but I still like the idea :-)
