The Pirate is sick. I woke up at 3:30 this morning to the sounds of his being loudly, copiously sick and realized that he'd been up long enough to make himself a bed in the living room. I got him some Pepto Bismol and a glass of water, retrieved the Baby Goddess from her bed, and the two of us went back to sleep in my bed.

He's no better this morning. He's still not keeping things down, still moaning and shivering and praying for death. We've all been there.

I hate this because he's so obviously in pain and anguish and there's nothing I can do. No pill or unguent, no potion or incantation is going to help him get through this any quicker. All I can do is keep making him drink water and listen to him make the same sounds of misery that everyone in that condition makes.

*sigh*

My sympathies, and may he recover very very soon. Is it a falling-ill sick or a food-related sick?

I'm fairly certain it's food-related sick. And, thanks to your good wishes (because you have that kind of power, you know) he's turning the corner and is now in the "sleeping like the wrung-out, sweaty, funky dead" phase.

It sucks when you can't help the ones you love, doesn't it?

It really really does. So why can I cast Esuna over the intarwebzorz, but not on my own damn cat? (...sorry, Final Fantasy joke.)

I think it's like writing and editing. You can only be a good editor of someone else's writing, never your own.

So, you can *only* cast Esuna (whatever the hell THAT means) over the intarwebzorz, not at home.

It sounds sort of like "What the intarwebzorz have made, let no man cast Esuna."

Esuna cures status ailments-- sicknesses. (As opposed to Cure, which actually heals wounds. Hooray for the legacy of poorly translated English.)

But at least you have not lost your horrible pun mojo. =)

You can take my pun when you pry it from my cold, dead lips.

I'm still feeling poorly. But I'll live.

It was probably some alien death ray that hit me. But the aliens got the scale wrong, so it only killed my intestinal fortitude.
