Assuage Your Guilt

For those of you who missed me at the Petaluma reading (you know who you are - you're a bipedal mammal who's reading this), I'm going to be reading at the CWC's open mike at the Barnes & Noble in the Pruneyard on Friday the 19th. Readings start at 7:30. Maybe we should all go around the corner for coffee and sweets afterward.

Or to Buca di Beppo and eat until our pants don't fit anymore.

Hmm, sounds interesting. I'll just be back from Las Vegas, so gramina may claim my atention -- but I bet she would enjoy it too.

And you'd both be up for vast quantities of Italian food from Buca di Beppo right around the corner, right? Perhaps we can get idunno3 and maybe recursive and some others.

Sounds like a great idea. I think I can probably attend. Though since M will be living in the area at that point, I should really check with her before committing.

Yeah...do you really want her to meet your friends? I think it will be great to get everyone together for a little social action that doesn't necessarily involve six to eight people shielded with their personal laptop-and-iPod force fields.

A difficult decision
Unfortunately, this is an either / or situation.

Well, normally (and by 'normally' I mean if M lived in the immediate Bay Area) I'd just tell her, "Hey, lets go out with my writing group for dinner and a reading!" and keep my fingers crossed. But she will be living in Santa Cruz, and doesn't have a car reliable enough to get over the hill. So bringing her entails leaving work around 5, driving over 17 during rush hour, picking her up, and driving back in rush hour, hoping all along I get back before 7:30. And it will be her first full week here, so she may insist on seeing me Friday night, and if I have to choose between her and my writing group, well, as wonderful and nice as you all are, she's more wonderfuler and nicerer. ;)

Re: A difficult decision
I have to respect any relationship that makes you leave grammar by the wayside!

sounds like a capital idea. will be there unless crushed by bedroom furniture or hemmed-in by towers of boxes awaiting the next day's move.
